In December, the China Pesticide Price Index rose. According to statistics from the China Association of Pesticide Industry, the Pesticide Price Index (CAPI) for December was 84.26, representing a month-on-month increase of 1.40% and a year-on-year increase of 5.14%. During the month, enterprise operations and market performance remained stable, with essential winter stocking needs driving procurement and orders being delivered in succession.

Within this, the herbicide price index saw a slight rebound. Paraquat prices continued to rise for the eighth consecutive month, with an increase of 4.99% this month. Prices for herbicides such as 2,4-D, glyphosate, butachlor, and trifluralin declined, with drops within 4.2%. The insecticide price index halted its decline and rose, showing a month-on-month increase of 5.09%. Among these, the weighted average transaction price of chlorpyrifos technical material rose by 19.30% month-on-month, contributing to a 3.29 percentage point increase in the insecticide price index. The fungicide price index experienced a minor decline, falling 0.25% month-on-month. Among these, the weighted average transaction price of chlorothalonil technical material fell by 6.67% month-on-month, contributing to a 0.55 percentage point decrease in the fungicide price index.

1. Herbicides

In December, the herbicide price index was 83.59, up 0.26% month-on-month and up 9.57% year-on-year. Among the 44 herbicide products monitored, the weighted average transaction prices of 19 products increased month-on-month, while those of 25 products decreased month-on-month. The weighted average transaction prices of 14 products increased year-on-year, while those of 30 products decreased year-on-year.

2. Insecticides

In December, the insecticide price index was 83.99, up 5.09% month-on-month but down 3.36% year-on-year. Among the 37 insecticide products monitored, the weighted average transaction prices of 19 products increased month-on-month, 4 remained flat month-on-month, and 12 decreased month-on-month. The weighted average transaction prices of 13 products increased year-on-year, 1 remained flat year-on-year, and 22 decreased year-on-year.

3. Fungicides

In December, the fungicide price index was 86.04, down 0.25% month-on-month but up 4.07% year-on-year. Among the 31 fungicide products monitored, the weighted average transaction prices of 17 products increased month-on-month, 2 remained flat month-on-month, and 12 decreased month-on-month. The weighted average transaction prices of 11 products increased year-on-year, 1 remained flat year-on-year, and 19 decreased year-on-year.
